Tutoring and Academic Support

Posted by Courtney Burns on Sep 20, 2021 3:24:19 PM

School is officially in full swing!  Pep rallies, sporting events, and rehearsals are filling the campus with all sorts of excitement and the Faith Family is back in action.  Academics are also amping up as we settle into the year, which means the arrival of tests, quizzes, papers, and homework.  As an academically rigorous institution that believes in the importance of a well rounded and involved student, Faith Lutheran provides several ways for students to access academic support-all included in your tuition and fees.

First and foremost, teachers should be the first line of defense when it comes to questions about classroom material.  Every teacher has office hours and contact information listed on the bulletin board of the class Crusader Connect.  Students are encouraged to reach out with questions.

Secondly, Faith Lutheran Science National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta students offer free Math & Science Tutoring to all 6th-12th grade Faith Lutheran students: Mondays-Tuesdays 2:45p - 3:45p - Room 312 and Wednesday-Thursday 2:45p - 3:45p - Room 335.  These honors students offer tutoring support under teacher supervision.  Drop-ins are welcome!

Finally, Faith Lutheran partners with Princeton Review to offer access to 24 hour LIVE tutoring sessions through tutor.com.  This service is available at no additional cost to currently enrolled students.  Tutor.com can only be accessed through the student portal of Crusader Connect.  On each teacher’s topic page, you will find this icon:

By following the link below the icon, students can utilize one on one support, paper editing and review, test prep materials, and a host of other resources.  Browse the videos below for information on all of the different features this service offers.  Whether a student needs to sit with an honors student to work through a science lab, has suddenly remembered pre-calculus homework at 1:00am, or needs to have a paper edited, we have a way for you to get the help you need!

As always the counseling office is here to help.  Learn more about Faith Lutheran MS & HS Counseling Department at: https://www.faithlutheranlv.org/academics/counseling
