A few weeks ago, I was invited to a small luncheon to hear Jeremy Aguero from Applied Analysis and Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval speak about Nevada’s economy. Generously hosted by Nevada State Bank, these two men shared exciting and pertinent information about our state and city – all of which is great news for Faith Lutheran and our future.

Dearest Faith Families,
It’s the most wonderful time of the year (in my best Andy Williams’ voice!). The sights, the sounds, the smells, the tastes…I hope everyone loves the Christmas season! Around Faith Lutheran, our students, faculty, and staff will enjoy some well deserved time off to spend time with family and friends. And maybe open some presents.

What a tremendous few days. As I type this at 36,000 feet on our flight to Las Vegas from Houston, our team is heading back home tired yet fulfilled.

Make no mistake. There is still disbelief. There is still fear. There is still pain. There is still grief. At least 60 are dead; more than 500 are injured. Countless others wounded emotionally. Unanswered questions like “Why?!?” still abound among the madness.
Yet in the midst of the chaos, God has been faithful. He has heard the cries of schools, churches, and citizens around the world praying for peace and comfort and strength. He has answered those prayers with a resounding “Yes!”
God's in Control: Faith's Response to Last Night's Vegas Tragedy
The Las Vegas Community was devastated by an act of evil last night. We gathered our students and faculty together this morning to pray, to provide reassurance to our students, and to ask God for His comfort and peace for all of those involved.
A few years ago, my wife and I traveled to Israel. One day while at the Church of the Multiplication of Loaves and Fishes on the northwest shore of the Sea of Galilee, a bus filled with Israeli soldiers from the Israeli Defense Forces pulled into the parking lot. I asked our tour guide what they were doing. He explained that soldiers are toured around the entire country so they learn the history, culture, beliefs, geography, and people of Israel. He quipped, “Too many soldiers go into battle, and they don’t know what they’re fighting for. We make sure that doesn’t happen in Israel.”
